6/26/2023 0 Comments Newton kansan wed june 20 obits![]() Thomas Ray leaves to cherish his memory, his three children, Tony Ray Thornton and wife Linda of De Queen, Todd Dee Thornton of Lockesburg, and Carolyn Ann McIninch and husband Randy of Lockesburg his grandchildren, Taylor, Autumn, and Cassie nine great-grandchildren, Erin, Blakely, Lyric, Zuri, Tate, Case, Heaven, Michael, and Julian his sisters and brothers-in-law, Toni and Gaylon Alexander of Lockesburg, Cheryl and Shelby Elliot of Foreman, and Lisa and David Jones of Lockesburg two special friends, J.C. He was preceded in death by his parents his grandparents, “Daddy Pat” and Helena Thornton, and Marian and Minnie Dixson and his loving wife, Joan Thornton. He best spent his time with his grandchildren, and his pups, Lilly and Catfish. ![]() Thomas Ray was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, coaching his children’s baseball team, sleeping, and enjoying Friday night fish with his family at Nadine’s in Lockesburg. He attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Lockesburg. He faithfully served with the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He retired in recent years from Reid and Reid Logging. He was a 1968 graduate of Lockesburg High School, and shortly following, began his logging career with Thornton Logging. Thomas Ray was born the oldest of four children to the union of Thomas Monroe and Bessie Allene Dixson Thornton on June 6, 1950, in De Queen, Arkansas. Thomas Ray Thornton, age 72, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana, Texas. Crum will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2023, at Campground Cemetery in Winthrop with Doug Clements officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.įamily will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home in De Queen. Graveside services with Masonic rites for Mr. and Karen Crum of De Queen and Justin Crum of De Queen one grandson, Cameron Crum of De Queen and close friend, Betty Taylor. He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, B.J. Crum was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Velma Scott Crum. and former jailer for Sevier County Sheriffs Department. He loved getting together with his family and spoiling his grandson, Cameron. He liked his hunting, fishing, airplanes, motorcycles and wrestling. Ben was a member of Gillham First Baptist Church, Sweet Home Masonic Lodge and Bellville Masonic Lodge.
